Cartagena City Guide

Cartagena City Guide

I had the pleasure of visiting Cartagena in Colombia which was on my hot destination list for a while.
I cam on a girls trip and we went full on for shopping and food and salsa bars. This vibrant city is filled with culture, beautiful architecture, Colombian design stores, tasty restaurants and more.
I would like to share some of my favourite places in Cartagena for you to enjoy next time you visit Colombia.
Area to stay:
My favourite area is Cartagena old town. In the old town you find everything and it's in walking distance.
Outside the old town there is a parc, harbour and another area filled with great restaurants and bars as well. I recommend staying in the ol town and then you walk to areas outside of the old town for bars and restaurants.

Shopping:
Colombia is full of amazing shops for both clothing and homeware. I came back with a full luggage that I almost could not close (I had to sit on it haha).
Casa Chiqui - dreamy items for your home
St. Dom - the best concept store retailing a mix of Colombian brands
Silvia Tcherassi - clothing store
Casa cruxada- shop and restaurant
Ancora - swim brand made of recycled plastic
Píwake market - sustainable and recycled boutique
Azulu - clothing brand with own shop.

Palo Rosa - swimwear store
Maaji - swimwear store
Agua de Leon - several stores with everything from bags, swim, clothing, shoes etc. They also have a restaurant with the same name which is worth visiting as well.
If you fancy a beach day then either go to Bora Bora beach club or ideally you rent a boat and sail around the the islands close by where you can swim around in turquoise water.
Going out:
Alquimico -cool bar serving delicious drinks and tapas
Casa Cruxada - Restaurant and bar
Sierpe - delicious peruvian food.
Or try Candé, Carmen, Niku, Celele
You can also enjoy a drink during sunset at Cafe Del Mar
For Coffee:
I would go to Época,  Ábaco café, Cafe de la mañana, Erase un café, Café san Alberto, or Libertario coffee roasters.
