Set in a stunning private villa in the heart of Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, this immersive program is designed for those ready to deepen their practice, become certified instructors, or simply explore the transformative principles of Pilates in a supportive, sun-soaked environment.

About the Instructor:

Julie Pallesen, founder of This Way Movement, is a certified Pilates instructor trained in New York City, with over three years of teaching experience. She recently opened her own Pilates studio in Santa Teresa and is passionate about sharing the art of conscious movement. Her approach is rooted in creating connection – with the body, the breath, and the present moment. 
Julie's approach and method is classic pilates rooted in Joseph Pilates vision and with her own modern touch. 

 

The Setting:

Train in paradise. Our training will take place in a serene villa in Santa Teresa, offering an inspiring space to move, learn, and grow—just minutes from the beach. Between classes, enjoy the vibrant surf town energy, nourish your body with fresh local cuisine, and connect with a like-minded community.

Private Master Suite: 4.000$

Sharing room: 3.000$

Only attending the Teacher Training Program but lives in Santa Teresa and no accommodation needed: 2500$

Includes: 

• Mat Pilates Teacher Training; History of Pilates, principles of pilates, Anatomy, Effective cueing, observation, supervised and unsupervised teaching, Mat pilates exercises level I, II, III.

Spaces will be limited to keep the experience intimate and personal.

 

Schedule: 

28th Jan: Welcome + sunset pilates class 

29-31th Jan: History of pilates, principles of pilates, and anatomy + daily mat pilates classes 

1-2nd: Mat Pilates Level I

3-5th Feb: Mat Pilates Level II

5-6: Mat Pilates Level III

7-11: Mat classes, supervised and unsupervised teaching, observation, exam, and teaching classes. 

Includes: 

25 Hours Self Practice 

10 Hours Observation  

10 Hours Unsupervised teaching 

5 hours Supervised teaching 

5 hours you are teaching a group

Written exam

Pilates Mat Certification 

Travel:

Fly into San Jose or Liberia International Airport. From there you take a domestic flight to Cobano (about 20 min.) From San Jose or Liberia airport you can choose between flying to Cobano airport via either Sansa or Green Airways.
Once you land in Cobano, a Taxi will drive you to Santa Teresa (about 20 min scenic drive) in which we will help coordinate.

**We highly recommend you check Green Airways Or Sansa schedule before booking your main flight as you want to make sure when to book your internal flight. ** Feel free to reach out to Julie (hello@thiswaymovement.com) to help with coordinating.

 

Cancellation Policy:

Pay $1,000 deposit to secure your spot on the trip which is nonrefundable. The remaining amount is to be paid no later than 30 days before retreat begins.
For cancellation requests submitted within 30 days of the retreat date, 50% of total amount (less deposit) will be refunded. Cancellation requests within 14 days of the retreat are nonrefundable. We highly recommend you purchase travel insurance in case of unforeseen events that might occur. Exceptions cannot be made for any reason. Failure to attend or completing the retreat will not result in a refund or credit.
