Amsterdam City Guide 2017 - This Way

Amsterdam City Guide

Last month I spent a weekend in Amsterdam and Rotterdam visiting a good girlfriend of mine. She lives in Rotterdam and she visits Amsterdam quite often as it is only a 30/40 min. drive. We met up in Amsterdam and stayed in the city for about 36 hours. We spent one night at the W Hotel Amsterdam which was super cool. They have the amazing restaurant, Duchess which serves delicious food. Besides being in the cool W Hotel we explored the city, mainly the shopping and café options. Another friend, who is Dutch but lives in Bali at the moment, she gave me amazing tips of where to go. Whatever she recommends I know is top, which is why I am sharing her tips together with mine. First of all, go rent a bike and explore the city while cruising on a bike. Amsterdam is like Copenhagen, there is almost more bikes than cars. Restaurants:

  • Momo Restaurant (is amazing if you are in the mood for sushi)
  • Duchess
  • Moon restaurant (chic and high-end)
  • Madam
  • Panache
  • Lion Noir
  • De Kas
  • Toscanini Cafés:
  • SLA (Good Salad bar)
  • Juice Brothers (go for acai bowl)
  • Wolvenstraat 23
  • Ted's
  • George's (is like Balthazar in NYC or Pastis in Copenhagen)
  • Coffee & Coconuts
Shopping: In the city center you have all the high street brands like H&M, Zara, Mango, and my favourite is Brandy Melville. Also the city has the big department store is, De Bijenkorf where you can find all from high-street to high end brands. Furthermore, on the street, P.C. Hooftstraat, you can find all the luxury brands like Chanel, Gucci, La Perla, and so on... Museum:
  • Het Stedelijk Museum (modern art)
  • Het Rijksmuseum (Rembrandt)
Clubs:
  • De School
  • Claire
  • Shelter
  • Disco Dolly

Wearing: Just Female sweatshirt, Meotine fur, WeLove Jeans, Chanel bag and boots

We had lunch at George's and it was delish..

Hope you can use my Amsterdam City Guide.  Enjoy! xx Julie Pallesen
