Mexico City City Guide 2022

Mexico City City Guide 2022

Mexico City has stolen by heart. I love this cool and vibrant city which is filled with cool restaurants, vintage shops, dogs, and colourful architecture.
Also, for traveling it is a nice central hub and easy to get to from North-  and South America. And even from Europe there are a lot of flights to Mexico City. It can be also be a perfect transit for a few days before going to somewhere else in Mexico City.
This is my second time to Mexico City and I traveled with my boyfriend and our baby. It was easy to be strolling around with Rio and not being on a schedule besides lunch and dinner restaurants. We were on vacation to eat our hearts and stomachs full and enjoy some city vibe.
When living on the beach it is nice to get some time in a city and feel some buzzy energy.
We stayed in an apartment in Polanco, which is a more new and modern area. Whereas Roma and Condesa are more creative and hip areas with stunning old buildings, art, and lots of restaurants.
Below are some of my favourite breakfast, lunch, and dinner spots that I love and will go back to anytime!
Me chilling with a coffee at Constela while Rio is sleeping.
// Cafe NIN
Is one fo my favourite breakfast spots. This cafe is in a charming old building serving delicious sandwiches, eggs, and homemade pastries. Also, their coffee is good!
Another good breakfast/brunch place is LARDO
// Maximo Bistrot
I already cannot wait to go back to this place. I love Maximo Bistrot. Everything on the menu tastes delicious. All ingredients they use or make are high quality. I love love love this place. And their Wagyu beef burger is insane!
Maximo Bistrot...
// Taverna
This cool and vibrant two floor restaurant is such a vibe. The place itself is so beautiful and the drinks are delicious. The food is Spanish inspired and with a lot of meat.
Taverna is located in Roma area.
Tavernas bread pudding dessert is so so tasty.
Margarita for two!
I always have to check the restrooms, also if I don't have to go... :)
// EM Restaurant
Chef restaurant and very very good. The restaurant is Japanese inspired and clean/zen. It is an intimate restaurant and I enjoyed that. The food is tasty and perfection. I ordered their cheese croquette, corns, creamy rice and meat.
The restaurant is in Roma.

// Carmela Y Sal Restaurant
A fine-dining restaurant in Polanco. All plates where a show and the drink as well as you see on the picture. Serving a drink in a book was the first time I tried this.
And the food was excellent. It is a more formal place but definitely wort a visit if you are up for an experience.
// Madre Cafe
A cool restaurant is a historical building. You can dine on the ground floor or up on their roof terrace.
I enjoyed a late lunch where we shared fish tacos, pumpkin raviolis, salads, and finished off with their "madre chocolate" cake. (pictures below).
You can enjoy lunch or dinner at Madre Cafe and I recommend the roof terrace.
Out and about...
// Leonora Studio
I needed a little fresh air cut and went to Leonora Studio in Polanco. I got a hair wash, hair cut, and blow dry for 25$. I think its the cheapest haircut I have ever got. And they did a really good job!
For shopping go explore Roma area. There are a lot of cool stores and vintages shops. I personally love the shop, 180degrees
In Polanco you find IKAL store which is a concept stores retailing a selection of cool high end (mostly) Mexican designers.
If you prefer a shopping mall, then I recommend, ANTARA. This is an outdoor shipping mall and not too big but they have Zara, Nike, All Saints, Coach, etc.
Until next time Ciudad de Mexico.
I cannot wait to come back already.
xx and safe travels
